Les Menuires: Wide Spaces and Sun

Enjoy the wide open spaces of Les Menuires with a private instructor. Personalized lessons and family discovery in the heart of the 3 Valleys.

An Underrated Base for International Visitors

Les Menuires gets less attention from foreign visitors than Courchevel or Val Thorens, which is exactly its advantage: shorter lift queues, more affordable chalets, and the same direct access to the 600 km of 3 Valleys runs. The sunny, wide-open plateau also means fewer of the navigation problems that first-time visitors run into on more crowded, tree-lined resorts.

With a private guide you skip the resort's group lesson entirely. I'll take you up to Pointe de la Masse at 2,804 m or across to Mont de la Chambre at 2,850 m, timed around your fitness and snow conditions rather than a fixed class schedule.

Off the Beaten Track: La Masse

La Masse rarely appears in tourist-office ski guides written for English-speaking visitors, yet it holds one of the best sustained off-piste descents in the whole domain — 480 m of vertical drop in a single run. If you're after something wilder than the groomed boulevards, this is where I take confident skiers.

Meeting You Wherever You're Staying

International guests in Les Menuires are usually spread across Reberty, Les Bruyères or La Croisette rather than concentrated in one village centre. I meet you at your accommodation rather than asking you to find a central ski school desk, then use the high-capacity La Masse and Mont de la Chambre gondolas to link runs efficiently across the wider 3 Valleys area.

Local Knowledge Worth Knowing Before You Book

If you can manage an early start, the La Masse gondola before 9am gets you first cabin and fresh corduroy on the 480 m descent — a detail most visitors never find out about because it isn't in any guidebook.

Travelling with children? I steer families toward the La Croisette plateau and the gentle Reberty 2000 runs, both quieter than the Bruyères side. Stronger skiers after untracked snow get the La Masse sector instead, which stays wilder and less skied than the Saint-Martin face.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the meeting point in Les Menuires?
I usually meet you at the foot of the Masse gondola or at La Croisette, depending on your accommodation. I can also come directly to your residence if you are staying in the resort.
Are Les Menuires suitable for families?
Les Menuires is one of the most family-friendly resorts in the 3 Valleys. The wide sunny plateaus and broad slopes are perfect for children and beginners. I know the best routes for progressing with confidence.
Can we access the other valleys from Les Menuires?
Yes, from the summit of Mont de la Chambre (2850m), you can easily switch to Meribel. The connection with Val Thorens is also very quick via the ridges. It is an excellent starting point to explore the 3 Valleys.
