Mottaret is the perfect base camp for ambitious skiers. Starting at 1,750m, you're already at altitude and the first runs are accessible in under 2 minutes. My advice: take the Pas du Lac lift at opening for a perfect groomed descent, then head to Mont Vallon for off-piste before the sun softens the snow.

For families: The Altiport area just below offers gentle slopes ideal for children while parents venture onto more technical terrain.
