Orelle allows you to reach the summit of the domain (Cime Caron) from the Maurienne valley. It's a fast and scenic gateway.

The slopes in Orelle are known for their exceptional snow quality and their southern sun exposure, offering a unique "high mountain" atmosphere.

We will ski on the highest peaks of the domain, with breathtaking views of the Alps and the Ecrins massif.

Instructor's Tip

Orelle is a well-kept secret. The Maurienne side offers exceptional sunshine and slopes that are often deserted on weekdays. Plan for good physical fitness: the altitude (up to 3,230m) makes itself felt. I recommend starting gently, then linking descents towards Val Thorens to enjoy the impressive vertical drop.

Good to know: Parking at Orelle is free and the "Belleville Valley + Orelle" pass is often cheaper than a full 3 Valleys pass.

How do you access the 3 Valleys ski area from Orelle?

Orelle is the southern gateway to the 3 Valleys, on the Maurienne side. A gondola takes you directly above 3000m altitude, from where you switch to Val Thorens. It is a privileged access point, often less crowded than the main entrances.

Is Orelle's altitude a problem for skiers?

The 3230m summit offers spectacular views and exceptional snow, but the altitude can be felt. I manage the day's pace so you can fully enjoy it without discomfort. The first descents allow you to acclimatize gently.

Is Orelle a good choice to avoid crowds?

Absolutely. It is one of the least known access points to the 3 Valleys. Parking is free and the high-altitude area above Orelle is often empty. It is a secret I gladly share with my clients.
